So a little story about this one...

These are all wheatpastes done by local street artists GUS and MSG. My boy NEGATE and I connected with them on a Friday night, and they decided to take us with them while they put up some wheatpaste. I don't really make a habit of doing anything illegal on Friday or Saturday because it's too high-profile. First thing, we are in their tiny hatchback car, further cramped by all the wheatpaste supplies. They kept their paste in one of those big plastic tubs industrial painters use. And had a couple squeegees they had stolen from gas stations to apply the paste. I asked them what their recipe for paste was and they said it was flour, water, white glue, rubber cement, honey, and whiskey. For reals. And I don't think they were joking about the whiskey.

Anyway, we arrive on a back street off the main strip of Augusta. Here it is, right at rush hour, and they are putting up a massive piece. If you can't tell from the photo, it was taller than me, and I'm six foot even.

NEGATE and I are kind of standing to the side, trying to watch and yet be conspicuous. Because we're like, "How are these guys not arrested yet?" I say that because cars are driving by at a non-stop stream, sometimes honking. This is back in the early 200's, but lots of people had cell phones at that point.

Anyway, they went for another two years before getting busted for something far more covert and low-key.
