Turns out that all invite mails are failing. Our tech guy is on vacation until the 6th, but hopefully it's a simple fix and we'll have it up and running soon. I was wondering why the invites I was sending out were not getting used by some.

Also, to help us grow our numbers, I am going to speak with him about adding a request to join section. I hope we are able to have it where all requests have to include a brief paragraph about what they can bring to the forum and also image upload to submit three examples their own artwork. This is less a check for skill level and more about weeding out spammers and whatnot. I have a pretty keen eye for detecting fakers, know how to spot AI generated artwork, and can reverse image google search. This is moreso to prevent spammers, than to gauge skill level. I want skilled writers, for sure, but all skill levels are welcome here from most seasoned writer to the absolute toy. I'm more concerned about attitude and temperament You can have a the toyest letters, but take criticism constructively and interact well with other users on here, and I will take that over an incredibly skilled writer who is an asshole.

Community and creativity and inspiration and motivation are most important to me. I'm very thankful that the place seems vibrant and alive when other forums are mostly hollow ghost towns these day. I hope to see the site flourish and grow even bigger in the future.

Sorry I talk so much!

EDIT: when I was posting to the forum this morning, we had 14,guests. Maybe some of our guests are legitimate visitors who want to join but don't know how.

Sounds like a good plan! I sent a few emails as well and never saw anyone turn up so that explains it lol

SITE UPDATE NEWS:
According to our tech guy, invites are working again. He is also getting new member sign-ups done in a way that I hope will be simple, and still require a way to keep spammers away.
